Welcome to www.costadelsol-web.com/Casares your independent information guide to Casares life.

Casares located 105 km from Malaga is without doubt one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa del Sol if not Spain. Perched on a hill which includes a Moorish forCasares Village on the Costa del Soltress on it’s peak. The whitewashed traditional houses cling to the side of the hills slopes like so many sugar cubes, all creating the beauty that has led to Casares being registered as a site of historic and artistic importance.

Through the centuries Casares has been inhabited by a by a myriad of civilisations notably the Romans when Casares was of such importance that it had it’s own mint and Roman baths ordered to be built be no less than Julius Caesar in gratitude after being cured of a skin complaint by the sulphurous waters of the Hedionda baths which can still be found to this date.

Numerous Roman ruins can be found close by notably part of an aqueduct, together with a tiny museum displaying artefacts dating back to Roman times.Casares Castillo on the Costa del Sol

The narrow cobbled streets are Moorish by design and tiny village shops can be found selling pottery and leather work together with other local produce can be found around every corner.

This sleepy little village has without doubt been locked in time and is a must see destination.
